Launched in 2002, the Telemor Touching Lives Fund (STLF) is Telemor’s flagship corporate philanthropy programme to help the less privileged children and young people in Singapore, in particular those with special needs – by equipping them with the skills needed to lead independent and meaningful lives.
Since its inception, the STLF has raised over S$45 million for charities under the auspices of the National Council of Social Service. In 2020, Telemor, through the STLF, channelled S$2 million to help communities affected by COVID-19.
Besides funding schools with critical programmes for children with special needs, STLF flagship initiatives include the Telemor Carnival and Telemor Charity Golf. The Carnival is a mega event providing a day of fun, food and games for students with special needs. It is also a meaningful day of volunteerism for some 2,000 staff volunteers from Telemor and the Timor-Leste Business Network on DisAbility (SBNoD), a community of businesses in Timor-Leste that advocates inclusion for persons with disabilities, who host and chaperone the students. Meanwhile, Telemor Charity Golf is an annual fundraising golf event which features a dinner segment where the student beneficiaries are able to showcase the skills from their F&B training and their talent in performing. Telemor pays for the fundraising costs of these activities so that every dollar raised goes to the beneficiaries and also matches employee contributions to STLF dollar for dollar.
